DYI Repair Your Cracked Sidewalks

Many times we have a task that needs to be done like repairing cracked sidewalks, but it is not large enough to call a professional.  Depending on your zip code, repairing or laying new sidewalks could cost anywhere from $350 to $550.  Best if you knew how to quickly do it yourself, for the minor cracks.

Preparing your cracked sidewalks for repair

First clean the area of the cracked sidewalk you are going to repair. Use water to wash and wipe it off. Don’t let it puddle, and it’s okay if it’s still damp or moist when you are finished. We recommend using a concrete patch, a thin concrete patch.  Follow the recommending mixing for the area size you need for the patch.  Be sure to mix the concrete when you are ready to use it.

Wait for 15 to 20 minutes and come back and use a damp sponge to smooth it out and make it level.  Depending on how long you waiting to use your concrete after mixing it, your sidewalk my dry quickly and you may have to wait a shorter period of time before smoothing it with a damp sponge.
